Psychotherapy
provides a confidential place where hopes and fears, conflicts and desires
can be allowed to surface in a safe and holding space.
Forgotten
experiences from the recent or distant past are forming the person’s ways
of thinking, feeling and being in the present. These may be limiting and
unhelpful in their lives now.

Emotional Freedom Techniques
Memories
are only memories to the conscious mind. To the unconscious they are current
events. Patterns of emotional distress get encoded in the body/mind interface
of the person’s energy system.
Emerging research on the Meridian and Energy Techniques is proving it to
be a powerful and effective adjunct to ‘talking therapies’.
Tapping on
particular points on the face and body produce a kind of reprogramming
which can catalyze desired changes in a person’s thoughts, emotions and
behavior. When monitored on MRI scans, distress levels registering in
the brain are shown to decrease. Energy therapies are being successfully
used with war survivors and victims of extreme trauma.
Who
is it for?
As
well as looking at problem areas, psychotherapy is useful for personal
growth; for re-evaluation of a current situation; to reconsider and remember
goals, dreams and desires; for a kind of ‘life review’. This can lead
to a new sense of purpose and meaning.
I have worked with actors, writers, sculptors; with priests, psychiatrists,
lawyers, teachers, social workers.
I also offer Supervision.
The therapeutic process is confidential and respectful of ethnic origin,
gender, age and sexual orientation. I abide by the Code of Ethics of UKCP
and AAMET.
How
much will it cost?
